Sam Gan is a Naarm/Melbourne-based Production Designer and painter, originally from Aotearoa, working across TVCs and narrative.
She began her creative journey at just 21, starting as a Stylist at Ogilvy & Mather. There, she honed her skills across homewares, fashion, and food styling before making the leap across the ditch—where she discovered her passion for Production Design.
With over nine years of industry experience, Sam has designed more than 250 sets across New Zealand and Australia. Her commercial portfolio includes campaigns for brands such as Jetstar, Ford, Pringles, Square, Nike and Specsavers. She has also collaborated with music artists including The Jungle Giants, Bring Me The Horizon, and Tones and I.
Sam prides herself for creating fun, safe, and collaborative working environments. She brings a strong stylistic sensibility to every project, drawing from both her agency roots and narrative background.
Storytelling and representation are at the heart of Sam’s creative process. She is always seeking new ways to challenge conventions and push the boundaries of Production Design.
